wmw999 2,589 #3 July 1, 2003 $200???? I always just used a pencil-grip soldering iron with a fabric-cutting tip. For cutting fabric, we used a tip with a flat/sharp end that described a semi-circle. Worked great. Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. sducoach 0 #4 July 1, 2003 Thanks, I'll check it out tomorrow. Beats the $185 plus tax plus shipping from PG. Blues, J.E.James 4:
councilman24 37 #5 July 1, 2003 For webbing or material? The one here http://www.dj-associates.com/ is a "heavy" pencil type. Better than the lighter weight solder pencil types. If you want a webbing cutter this about the cheapest I've found. http://www.greatoutdoorsdepot.com/greatoutdoorsdepot/electric-rope-cutter.html Here is the heavy duty cutter that PG carries, direct from the manufacturer. http://www.hsgmusa.com/I'm old for my age. sducoach 0 #7 July 2, 2003 Hit Home Depot and Lowe's today, no luck. But I've got the Dremmel book and am ordering online. Thanks for your help. By the way Councilman24 also gave me a great lead on the larger unit too. Blues, J.E.James 4:

councilman24 37 #9 July 2, 2003 It's amazing what 3 minutes on a search engine will find. DJ Associates are friends of mine. A good place for a little of some things and a large amount of other things. Especially useful are their sample packs of e thread. Lots of small (1 oz?) spool colors. Get each the two sets and have almost any container color.I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE

crapflinger2000 1 #14 July 3, 2003 California... Crapflinger just suits me (unfortunately)... However, in this case, I am totally serious... when I was buying tools I didn't have the money to blow on a really good hot knife... so I went to Target, bought a weber soldering iron, filed the tip to a nice flat blade, and used it as my "interim" hot knife for the next 6 years... worked nice for my purposes... __________________________________________________ What would Vic Mackey do?
