Teigen 0 #1 August 3, 2009 I've been trying to figure out if there is a time lapse mode on the CX105 with no luck... I've done a couple of time lapse test shots just letting the camera run. But its not really a efficient way to do it. I know some cameras has modes that records one frame of video every second and then compresses 25 frames down to a single second. Im planning on doing some timelapses at my DZ and i want to use my CX105. Is there any way of doing this in the camera? or do i have to get software for my laptop and control the recording through it? Thanks in advance! PhreeZone 20 #2 August 3, 2009 I have'nt found a way to do it yet. I've instead started using my XTi to shoot time lapse. Its not near enough frames a second to do anything high speed like landings or even enough to condense a pack job into anything more then 8-9 seconds. The buffer is about right when tethered to do things like sunsets, cloud motion, etc.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
DSE 5 #3 August 3, 2009 you'd need to computer control it, but the time compression/interleaving of frames converting frames to motion video can be done by nearly any NLE software either as a sequence or merge. Would be nice if you could do decent T/L with the CX, but it's a stripped-feature cam.

PhreeZone 20 #5 August 3, 2009 I'm looking at it as even worse on the shutter life count since I'm trying to shoot HDR time lapse so its 3 frames shot for every frame in the video. Honestly... with the way the prices have been falling on the Canon consumer line I'm not too worried since I'll be able to pick up a lightly used body that is the same if not better then the XTi I have for less then $300.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
