Before I start an indepth step-by-step break down to ID the source of my issue, thought I would ask if anyone had exprienced this before. Camera: CX-7 File Converter: Sony Motion Picture Utility Target File Type: MPEG-2 (which is the only option with this file converter) Player: Windows Media Player 10 Once I move the HD files from the camera to my laptop, I use the Sony Motion Picture Utility to convert the HD raw file to MPEG-2 in order to edit in Sony Vagas. File conversion completes, click on the new file, Windows Media Player starts but no sound plays. Import to Sony Vagas, no sound included. Thoughts: Could be a converter issue (software bug). Could be a windows media player issue (software bug). - will also try other media players over the next few days to confirm or eliminate this. Since no sound in Vagas, likely this is not the source of the issue. I have tried several other HD file converters, but most leave the resulting video in poor quality (frame drop, jerky play back).
