Crappy hackey

Recommended Posts

This is after 1 jump. I didn't have any problems with it and I haven't abused it. This really pisses me off.

The material of the hackey actually ripped and the stiching was undone after that ripped.

I applied a little pressure and the loop of fabric come out from around the ball resulting in what you see in the picture.

Guess I'll see what the supplier has to say about it. I had just got this handle to replace the freestyle handle on my rig.

Para-gear.

I haven't had a chance to talk to them yet, I'm pretty confident that they will replace it with no problem... question now is... do I want another one of these?

We will see what the outcome is... I feel they should replace the hackey and pay for my rigger fees.

The monkey fists I've seen have been smaller than the typical hackey. (Some were definitely much too small for my liking). If I found a monkey fist the same size as my current hackey I'd go for it...

Maybe I just have a hackey of unusual size. :)

I make monkey fists for the pilot chutes hook makes, and yes they are smaller, but they don't compress like the hackey does. The amount that the hackey squeezes down to is about the same size as the monkey fist. Except you don't need to squeeze as hard on the monkey fist because cord that is around it is less likely to slip than leather, especially when wearing gloves.
Fly it like you stole it!
