Tuna-Salad 0 #1 May 23, 2009 Sometimes while rendering the video will stop on a certain frame and keep said frame for about 30 seconds then move on.. upon watching the final product the 1 frame that the rendering paused on is all that the video is made of... Anyone had this issue? I may not of explained it very well... In example the video will sometimes play about half then it gets to a certain spot in the video and it turns into a 1 frame still for the duration.. sometimes the entire video turns out this way.Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night. Tuna-Salad 0 #3 May 24, 2009 I'm not sure? It mostly happens to avi files pulled off a sony handycam. Sadly I do not know much about codecs.Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night.
DSE 5 #4 May 25, 2009 Camcorders don't record in an avi package, is it a DV camera? next thing I'd look at is whether you're running antivirus, or other background applications.

DSE 5 #6 May 25, 2009 Without getting into a bunch of tech.. AVI, MOV, etc are just "wrappers." Like a grocery bag, a wrapper can contain various codecs, file types. For example, an AVI wrapper can contain an MPEG file. Your canon records an MJPEG stream, and your computer puts it in an AVI wrapper. If the codec is a weird codec (such as the one FRAPS utilizes), then regardless of the wrapper, your NLE or other applications may not be able to decode it.
