Ideal rig - can you describe it?

Recommended Posts

So, if you planning to build harnesses, what will you do?
If no one manufacturer do not you IDEAl, how will you design it?

Can you list of items, which you want to see in YOUR rig - like:
1. External tucktab
2. Atom-like reserve conteiner
3. Mirage-like main container
4. Internal riser covers
5. Unisyn
.... ets....

Sorry for bad English...

-solid riser covers
-good bridle protection
-comfortable harness (articulated and with a cut-in back strap)
-low profile reserve handle
-stainless steel
-really smooth design
-tie-dyed black&white
-short delivery time

To sum it up...
RI says my Voodoo will be finished in 3-4 weeks.B|

Mirage like main container.
Space for a large reserve/small main combo whilst retaining sleek looks.
Padded legstraps.
Space for weight without it digging in.
Very FFF. ie bridal routing, riser protection etc.
Slider stow.
Hook knife.
Low profile handles.
Very obvious window to check pilot chute is cocked.
Articulated harness.

Would self packing be asking too much???

I dont need to design the perfect rig, RWS already did it for me, my Vector3 is optimal to my taste. I think that most of the manufacturer's out there today have addressed the saftey issue's, and most of what rig you buy is more on what you think looks good.
I personally like RWS because I have dealt with them a lot, and their customer service towards me has always been top notch. My rig is bulletproof, and I trust it %100. The only thing I dont like about vector's is the reserve pin scarr's the reserve flap. But I have seen that on a few other rigs out there.

I have jumped a lot of different rig's in the past and the present, even though there was nothing wrong with them, I am comfortable with my set up, and wouldn't change it. I am considering trying out a newly designed set of riser's, that are suposed to have a great design. That will be the only non RWS and PD thing I own.

I was wondering - why doesn't Vector 3's reserve flap tuck in on the bottom. Well, I know it does, but it folds first. It loks like it could be snagged be the line in case of canopy collision. New Javelin, Wings, Voodoo have a reserve flap that cannot be snagged (the ending tucks in straight down, w/o folding upwards). I know RWS always wants to make their product safest, so maybe there is some reason for their style of reserve flap?

Any ideas? :S

Oh yeah, and answering the question in this thread - I would still choose Vector 3 - I love the SkyHook idea! :)
