Generally speaking no.

People have a tendancy to stay aloft in a paraglider much longer than would be comfortable in a skydiving type harness. A typical paraglider harness comes in two styles; one more seat like and one where the pilot lays prone. The one that is more seat like is more common.

Also paragliders do not to my knowledge ever deploy from a terminal speed freefall. All of the ones I'm aware of are designed to be foot launched (kited) from a hill. People have static lined them from balloons, helicopters and such, but that's very unusual.

If seen one wich was taking to terminal. It was a prototype that they where testing in Gap, France when i was there.I don't know what has become of it.But it appeared to perform verry well. The was also wearing a birdmansuite. He seemed to stay up for ever.
If people from Poland are called Poles, why aren't people from Holland called Holes???

There was a site posted not so long about a paraglider that could be used for skydiving.

The site is at www.para-gear.com. You can't link directly to the page, so you've got to go Homepage/MILITARY/Tactical Systems/PARIS
It's basically the sort of rig the military would use on a HAHO jump.
