First Jump with D300

Recommended Posts

Hola,
I test the Nikon D300 this afternoon and I like it a lot. Best Nikon to date (not ff).
This photo is with a 24mm at f2, in auto-area autofocus continuous mode. With the 51 focus points all over the place, all 105 pictures came in focus.
The 3" screen with vga resolution is simply amazing.
I gonna have lots of fun during the next Empuria Christmas boogie with my new toy, I mean, tool :-)

Hey Gustavo!

First let me congratulate the camera team on the AWESOME work you guys did with the CReW 100-way world record! Amazing, to say the least!

I got a chance to talk with Bob Lievsay, one of the record holders, yesterday at Perris. He shared the your pictures he purchased there in FL. I especially loved THIS ONE!! (21-809) :o

Great work! And congratulations to The Team! B|

Thanks itDIver!, yeah that one is one of my favorites now. I really have a blast running back from the front of the formations. Be able to hear the air traffic controller with the communications systems we use, really help to timing it.

But like in all the records I shoot, I allways feel our work as a cameramans is easy, we just take the best images we can. If we fail, we only fail to ourselves, someone else will have the picture. But the people ON the formations, talk about pressure! like the guy who didnt close the second 100 way, or the girl with 399 people waiting for her, and then go up again and close the 400... I really admire all this people. And I love the energy of this events with hundreds of people coming from all over the World with a common goal and vision and make it happen, and all the emotions and good things and bad things happening... Im really happy to be part of that.

You only had a few seconds to capture the completed formation... so I'm impressed you got several stunning images of it, with the Lake Wales DZ in the background. That's what I was looking for and you captured it, so I'm ordering a large print soon!

Nice! I just picked up a D200 a few months back and absolutely love it. Not really in the market to upgrade just yet B|.

Fantastic shots of the CRW formations too - very colorful and some original angles.

Got a D200 which I want to use. Havent put any thoughts in the remote trigger yet. Any suggestions which one to use? Is there any ready made bite trigger for it?

Ralph

I just bought this remote and wired it to a Conceptus tongue switch.

Edit: I haven't seen any commercially available bite switches for the Nikon Pro Series cameras....

Correction: was a Nikon 35mm AF D f:2, still on the Nikon line up. Wide open gives not the max quality of any lens, but I wanted to try the minimun dept of field available. First I choose the 24, but then put the 35 and under the neoprene cover I didnt see it again until now... Very nice lens by the way.

Interested?
I make switches (Pro Mouth Switch)
Also I started to make adaptors so any switch witha a 2.5mm strereo plug can be used.
I don't have any pro Nikon at this moment but I can make some if there's an interest.
Please see these pics of the D70s and D80 version.
Please respond in a PM.
Thanks!
