garywainwright 0 #1 June 15, 2007 Does anybody have any suggestions for getting the tip of a cameye plug out of a lanc socket? Somebody unplugged a cameye from my HC5 and it left the the very end of the plug in therehttp://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
DSE 5 #2 June 15, 2007 You can use a fine tweezer, this usually can get into the 2.5mm hole. Did the middle of the connector stay in there, or is it hollow inside? If it's hollow inside, you can usually put a little rubber cement on the end of a toothpick, "thread" the toothpick into the hollow part of the connector, and let it set. Then just pull it out. Another alternative is to use a small metal screw and thread that into the connector. You need to be sure you don't expand the metal around the collar of the connector or else it won't come out cleanly. Failing all that, head for most any electronic repair shop, they can open and remove for you. I've not opened the guts of the HC5 yet, so can't give you good direction there. If it's like the HC3, it's got a small ribbon connector on that block around which you'll need to be cautious.
garywainwright 0 #3 June 17, 2007 Many thanks for the response Douglas. We ended up taking out 25(!) screws to get to it, then used a hyperdermic with a bend in it to push it out from the inside!http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
