sdctlc 0 #1 June 7, 2007 I just got a new CamEye Sport (CE-S) and maybe I am doing something wrong. Turn off camcorder, Sony HC40 and plug in CE-S and turn back on. Get green light but camera goes directly into Play /edit (VCR) mode. I cant get it to switch to Camera???? Turn off, unplug CE-S and turn back on, BAMMM Right into Camera mode, WTF?????? Have tape, battery but CE-S wont let me go into Camera mode. When I turn it on the indicator briefly lights the camera then goes to Play/Edt CE-S is software version 1.6, is there a newer version> My normal CamEye-II works great with the camera??? Anybody have this issue or know a fix?? I will write the Manufacturer as well buit I cant be the only person with this issue. Thanks Scott"He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!" gearless_chris 1 #2 June 8, 2007 The cameye sport is for use with a bullet cam that's plugged in to the A/V port, it's supposed to record in play/edit. The cameye 2 is for camera mode."If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole. sdctlc 0 #3 June 8, 2007 Damnit, I saw it said on the info sheet I looked up that it is for Camera and VCR modes but further down noted is that the camera is only with an external "bullet" cam source.. My fault. Anybody want a new CamEye Sport cheap! Scott C. "He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

sdctlc 0 #5 June 8, 2007 QuoteThey might able to repace it with CameyeII. Doubt that as this is the response I got..... "CamEye SPORT v1.6 is designed to put the camcorder in VCR mode. You should have V1.4 or CamEye II if you intend to film in camera mode. Please contact the sales outlet for an exchange." Good to know the 1.4 version is what I was looking to get.. Oh well my fault for not reading more Scott"He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"
gearless_chris 1 #6 June 9, 2007 I thinks the 1.4 or 1.6 has to do with the color of the ring around your LANC port. Blue needs 1.6, red needs 1.4, at least that's what I heard."If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole. phoenixlpr 0 #7 June 9, 2007 Quote Good to know the 1.4 version is what I was looking to get.. Stop and think!!!! v1.4 or v1.6 is dependig the camera you want to use with.Once again for you: CameyeII is for recording with the camera in tape mode(built in camera), Cameye Sport is for using your camcorder as a VCR.
