DSE 5 #1 May 21, 2007 Had an EZPnP device that blew apart after a few uses. I'm looking for a device that will allow me to transfer CF to DVD without a computer. Other than EZPnP, anyone using anything worth a damn out there?
azureriders 0 #2 May 21, 2007 Ditto, I have been looking all day over the net, finding nothing that impresses me. In my case CF to CD would be fine, although DVD would be nice. So let us know.
PhreeZone 20 #3 May 22, 2007 I'm pushing a couple hundred burn cycles though my Apacer burner and haven't had the slighest issue with it.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

WatchYourStep 0 #6 May 24, 2007 Are there any that will allow me to pick and choose which pictures I want to burn off of my flash card? Say for instance in a day I shoot 4 tandem shots am I able to keep all of those shots and put 20 for jumper A on this disk and 20 of jumper B on that disk. Or would I need to empty the card after before jumper B goes? Does that make sense? "You start off your skydiving career with a bag full of luck and an empty bag of experience. PhreeZone 20 #7 May 24, 2007 It does full dumps, there is no way to pick and choose. For tandems its great, get a 512 card nd even if you fill it its still smaller then a CD. Burn 2 copies on the ground, one for you and their copy. Clear the card and jump again. At the end of the day take the CD's to your computer import them and archive them. Save the CD's as a second archive if desired or throw them away.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
WatchYourStep 0 #8 May 24, 2007 Thanks Phree. Does your burner do CD or DVDs? We do our videos on DVD, so I'm looking to see if I can put the video and stills all on one DVD. Any thoughts? PhreeZone 20 #9 May 24, 2007 Stills on DVD isn't such a great idea for one reason only. The cheap photo printers at Wal-Mart, CVS, etc do not read them as media. Thats often the most common way for someone to print out their little 4*6 photos to show their friends. Handing them a DVD means they now have to take an extra step and get the stills off the DVD and ont other media or they have to havea printer at home to print photos with.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

freefalljason 0 #11 May 24, 2007 I use the same device the exact same way as Phree described and I have been very happy with it with no problems from customers. Using Google, I found this review http://www.steves-digicams.com/2004_reviews/disc_steno_cp200.html I think it has been discontinued but maybe you can google it and find one on ebay or some where or find something similar out there. I have seen another brand recently here http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/312193-REG/Aleratec_310101_Digital_Photo_Copy_Cruiser.html Hope this helps. The sony guy when i called the company also confirmed that it did write on either CD or DVD. I may reconsider my previous choice and pick this one up. newshooter12 0 #13 June 4, 2007 DSE - I've got the previous model of Sony VRD-MC3 and haven't had any problems. I use it mostly to dump Mini-DV to DVD, but have also played around with it as a PnP DVD burner off my laptop as well as to dump CF cards to discs.
