bigdad510 1 #1 April 24, 2007 Where do most of you place your cam eye button. I've seen a whole bunch of different places. I have one to installed, and I want to put it in a place it won't get bumped during climb out or anything, butt sill being able to reach it. I jump the Skydance Sonic helmet. Both my Rebel and HC96 are mounted on top. The HC Looking out from the back it positioned front Left, with the Rebel XT right beside it slightly behind. Thanks!Brad
Peej 0 #2 April 24, 2007 On my Bonehead Optik i drilled a hole and placed the button about two inches behind my right ear, never had any problem with it there. Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
za_skydiver 0 #3 April 24, 2007 You can see in the pic where i placed the button. Left top of the helmet. Suppose its just personal preference. Blue SkiesSome dream of flying, i live the dream...
DSE 5 #4 April 25, 2007 anywhere riser slap can't get it. I lost mine on my 3rd jump (Bad body position, my fault, but bad location nonetheless)
tetra316 0 #5 April 26, 2007 I put mine on the top left. Think about which hand you carry your canopy back in. Then you want to put the button on the opposite side so you can reach it while holding your canopy. (or at least if you do tandem vids this makes it a lot easier). bigdad510 1 #6 April 26, 2007 Did you have the whole thing on the outside? I was thinking of drilling a hole and installing it from the inside of my helmet, with a rubbers seal around the edge to hold it in tight.Brad
VideoFly 0 #7 April 30, 2007 I've had my switch on the top, forward, right side of my helmet, but I prefer the top, forward, left side. Although it hasn't happened in years, I remember forgetting to turn the camera on until I was hanging outside the plane looking at a blue light. My dominant holding hand is my right, on the bar above the door. It was inconvenient reaching across the front of my helmet with my left hand to find and turn the switch on. On the left side, the left hand is already there. Of course, it is easier to turn the camera on before exiting the plane.
BlueSBDeath 2 #8 April 30, 2007 I put mine in the top center of the back of my RAWA, I sometimes feel the "Steveorino" push the risers out of the way to protect my gear and my head Works for me, same distance for each hand should I forget Stay safe!! karenmeal 0 #9 May 1, 2007 I put mine on the top forward left side on a hawkeye camera helmet with the camera on the left. It seemed like a good place to me where a riser wouldn't hit it and where I wouldn't likely bump it on exit. I have to remember though that when I'm turning it on I shouldn't reach in front of the camera, otherwise I video my hand. But whatever.. minor issue. Zee 0 #10 May 1, 2007 I just mounted it inside my FTP. It turned off on me too many times so I just put it inside and use the button on the camera instead. Action©Sports
