Kris 0 #2 May 19, 2003 Get shorter risers. Otherwise, you'll just have to put the canopy in a bit of brakes until you can get grab it to stow it.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
fudd 0 #3 May 19, 2003 I got the same problem, but after some jumps now I almost allways reach it. Instead of getting shorter risers, you could also get softlinks. With softlinks the slider will probably get an inch further down. A bit cheaper than new risers. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't. SkydiveMonkey 0 #4 May 19, 2003 Try slackening off your chest strap. I jump with mine quite tight and the slider stops a few inches above the links, so even slinks don't make a difference there.____________________ Say no to subliminal messages

Thanks I used to have the same problem. It took too long to keep grabbing for it (all the while flying around). I installed softlinks to allow the slider to come down a bit more, usually it did, just enough for me to grab it. But not always. Letting it stay up wasn´t good, it came down on me 3 times ). I ended up getting shorter risers, problem solved. Now I have a second main on regular length risers, I installed slider bumpers on that one so it can´t come down (didn´t want to invest in another set of short risers and softlinks). I can maybe reach it to collapse it, maybe not. A bit annoying but I can live with it (don´t jump that main much). ciel bleu, Saskia
Squeak 17 #7 May 19, 2003 I can reach up to the end of the risers, but the slider often sits above the risers by about 8-12", even when I pumpit it don't come down. You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! Yoshi 0 #8 May 19, 2003 I use to have that happen with my crossfire, but I am 6'1" and I couldnt reach it...so what I did was jsut take my palms facing forward and slap my risers at the same time with both hands (sometimes taking many slaps in a row) just bang on m...and that made it come down to the risers... if you can reach about 4 inches above your links then I wouldnt say its a riser problem, my 2 cent -yoshi_________________________________________ this space for rent.
