turtlespeed 226 #1 September 26, 2006 Well - I guess it was inevitable - the ol' girl is starting to show her age. Problem 1: The female charger connection is either wearing out or there is another problem - I have to keep the charger at a certain angle and with pressure on the cord to get the charger to fill up the battery. Has anyone ever had this? Is there an easy fix that I'm just not seeing? Problem 2: That funky cord that looks like a half moon S-Video thing is doing the same as my power cord, video doesn't go out, but the audio does. I have cleaned both with alcohol, but no difference. I'm hoping that there is a quick fix, but I realise that it just may need to be sent in for repair.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
PhreeZone 20 #2 September 26, 2006 Problem#1 ia a bad circuitboard, its about a $50-125 part depending on the Sony model. I did the same to mine and decided to just scrap the camera. Look at picking up a camera off ebay, you'll spend 250 for repairs from Sony or toy can get an HC model for less then that.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
SkymonkeyONE 4 #3 September 28, 2006 My PC 109 is wierd about wanting to charge sometimes too. I just wiggle the cable or plug/unplug it over and over till the "charging" light comes on. It still shoots great video and it doesn't weigh anything. Chuck

It just needs a little "push" downward to make the connection - it just gets a little irritating when someone moves the camera during an edit. On the other hand - my 300d is working WONDERFULLY I believe I have turned the counter over twice now(20K pics) - if I haven't, I am really close to it. I was thinking about laying a bead of solder on the connect points to insure a better connection - anyone see anything obvious that I'm miossing that makes this a bad idea?I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
