superstu 0 #1 May 15, 2003 Just wondering why the samurai is considered a step up from the stiletto?Slip Stream Air Sports Do not go softly, do not go quietly, never back down
skyjuggler 0 #2 May 15, 2003 Longer recovery arc (Negative recovery arc compared to relatively short recovery arc of stiletto) therefore more speed can be generated resulting in higher performance.
PhreeZone 20 #3 May 15, 2003 Its got a more agressive trim angle and holds a dive and speed potential much more then a Stiletto. A Vengence is the step from the Stiletto, but not an Xbraced canopy from PD. Same principle.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
Ron 10 #4 May 15, 2003 You can load them a little more. I personally don't sse them as a step up. Just a variation on the same. (This is were all the Samurai and Jedei nuts start yelling at me.) For what its worth I have a few hundred Jedei jumps on 95 to 120's, and liked them, but was not awe inspired by them, and stayed with my Stiletto. JJohnson 0 #5 May 17, 2003 I'll give you another reason not yet mentioned...the openings. A Samurai opens incredibly fast, yet butter soft. Most amazing openings I have ever felt. The first time I deployed I freaked. I deployed, instantly I heard and felt the canopy begin to open.....braced myself to have my neck broke.......opened my eyes, looked up at a fully inflated canopy and wondered why I didn't feel the opening. Got to the ground, looked at the designer of the canopy and asked him if it was supposed to open like that. Brian cracks a sly grin and says," Open like what???" Samurai is a great canopy.JJ "Call me Darth Balls"

Samurai is a great canopy. agreed.... i routinely dump in a full-on track and have the same openings i have normally... sweet & soft... just a different view oh yeah... packing instructions (for the propackers).. don't touch the nose... just leave it... no rolling, no tucking... oh yeah.. i fly a top-mount camera. Landing without injury is not necessarily evidence that you didn't fuck up... it just means you got away with it this time
