Mostly_Harmless 0 #1 August 23, 2006 I am trying to output my video from WMM in the best output possible (DV-AVI, to use for a dvd). But everytime I save it the music in the video it is all screwed up(skips etc..). Anyone have any ideas?_________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
DSE 5 #2 August 23, 2006 What format is the music? Is it wmv? MP3? OGG? aif? What is the sampling rate? Any or all of these *can* affect your render if your processor needs to decode the format during render. BTW, you can't use DV-AVI for DVD playback. DVD as a media standard format is exclusively MPEG, whether it's MPEG 1, 2, or 4.
Mostly_Harmless 0 #3 August 23, 2006 I believe its MP3. I thought I could take that DV-AVI and use roxio to burn a dvd? I really like the quality of the video I get when I save it like that but the music gets all messed up. Could it be WMM itself? Maybe I should try something else? I am unsure of the sampling rate, what I do know is that when I click on the DV-AVI setting I get: File type: Audio-Video Interleaved Bit rate: 30 Mbps Display size: 720 x 480 FPS: 30 Aspect ratio: 4:3_________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
DSE 5 #4 August 23, 2006 If Roxio is ENCODING the avi to an MPEG format, then it can be used as a DVD on a standard player, that's so. Roxio may also be used to record an AVI file to a DVD as a data file. You don't want a data file.
Mostly_Harmless 0 #5 August 23, 2006 I understand that but my problem is still with WMM. IS there any particular reason it would distort the music and not the video (the video doesn't skip etc...). If this is the case then I am only left with encoding it in a lower quality format. It looks good with the lower quality format but it doesn't compare to if I was able to use the DV-AVI format._________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
DSE 5 #6 August 24, 2006 If the level of the music you are using is very hot, ie; at 0dBFS and you're combining it with audio that isn't hot, the cumulative value of the audio could easily be overdriving the final level/output. It's important to remember that digital audio is cumulative, and if you hit the 0dB point it's not like analog audio where there is some forgiveness. The audio truncates, and if loud enough, will appear as though it's distorted. I'd recommend turning the audio down as a starting point. Past that, without hearing the mix, I'd not have a means of offering a suggestion.
Mostly_Harmless 0 #7 August 24, 2006 Thanks DSE. I am going to keep trying to see if I can find some sort of solution._________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
packerboy 3 #8 August 26, 2006 I didn't get it either! Are you talking about overlaying the music on top of the audio on the tape? -------------------------------------------------- In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock. ~ Thomas Jefferson
Mostly_Harmless 0 #9 August 28, 2006 Forget about it now. I finally broke down and brought a new program, Cyberlink PowerDirector, and I am glad I did. This program is pretty awesome and solved the problem I was having with WMM. Thanks guys for your help!_________________________________________ www.myspace.com/termvelocity
