weegegirl 2 #1 June 20, 2006 What is the quickest burner to get your digital stills to cd? How does the slide show thing work if you want to play them on the big screen?
PhreeZone 20 #2 June 20, 2006 Use a standalone. Total transfer time on some of the newer ones is less then 5 minutes for a full 512 card. I have an Apacer one that takes about 7 for that same size. Thats ok because I hiy burn, start on the Video and then eject it once the video is done. If its small enough I'll do 2 copies, 1 for the customer and 1 for me while the video is going.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
weegegirl 2 #3 June 20, 2006 Hmm.... what about the slideshow thingy mabob. Or is that just pop in the cd to a dvd player and it works? Any clue?
Miami 0 #4 June 20, 2006 Like Phree said, go with a stand alone. This Alera is the one I use...takes less than 5 minutes to burn roughly 60 photos at high res off of my 20D. To review you should be able to pop the cd into a dvd player...I just use a laptop though.Miami
Miami 0 #5 June 20, 2006 Some of the more expensive ones have a video out on the unit, you can plug them into a monitor/cheap tv and preview through the burner. This Apacer is an example.Miami
weegegirl 2 #6 June 20, 2006 Hmmm..... I thought there was something out there for roughly $250 that would do that job. That was the info I was given this weekend. I have the tv to use as a monitor. The brand name was EZ something??? Ring a bell??? And Miami... for crying out loud... when are you coming to visit us???????????????
Miami 0 #7 June 20, 2006 This is the previous model of Apacer that I'm pretty sure has a tv out as well, and that looks to more in your price range? Seller looks fairly reputable as well... I'm going to be up in August...going to be passing through Richmond after a wedding and stay there all day Sunday.Miami
weegegirl 2 #8 June 20, 2006 Hmmm... cool, you think that will do the trick?? Thanks for the link. Uh, and... what-evah!... that's all you can give us is one stinkin day????? If that's all, I'll take it.
Miami 0 #9 June 20, 2006 Did a little research on it and that's actually a really nice burner! Would very much do the trick for you...as long as the seller is being honest about the listing. If you guys could just move the dz a little closer I'd be up there a lot more often!! I'm really looking forward to visiting again!Miami
Peej 0 #10 June 21, 2006 I use my standard lap top CD burner, I plug my CF card from my XT into an external USB card reader, pop in a CD and use a program called "drag to disc". I do it much the same way as Phree. When i get into our edit suite i start on the stills, once they're going i edit the DVD, then as i finalise the dvd i eject the stills and the disc closes automatically. I wait a minute and hand the pax their discs in the cover. Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
PhreeZone 20 #11 June 21, 2006 I've got an earlier version of that burner and it works very nicely, but my version does not have a video out on it. If you really want a slide show Liz you can always hook the camera right up to the TV and out put it that way. I did see a dedicated slideshow/printer computer at Skydive Greensburg this weekend, but thats no where near being in my budget for a very long time.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
kansasskydiver 0 #12 June 23, 2006 I think a problem with that though would be that the slideshow from the camera shows all the pictures. I don't know about anyone else but all the pics I take of a tandem aren't always the ones I want shown. I fire off between 70-120 pictures per tandem and that's one hell of a slide show.<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!
