More memory in my Powerbook

Recommended Posts

All,

I want to get additional memory in my Powerbook (I started editting HD footage.. and I'd like to speed it up a bit)
I checked out the apple website, 300 bucks for 1Gb.. Since the memory seems standard, I am wondering if I can just go out and buy memory somewhere else and it will work as well?

I have the Powerbook G4, 15" 1.5

Any experience, feedback?

Iwan

Hey Iwan, i don't have a mac, but i was looking for memory for my dell lappy, i looked everywhere for memory and found some that i was pretty sure would work and it was more expensive that buying it from dell. YMMV:S
Or, just check out Drew's post.:D

Do not buy RAM from Apple. They overcharge like you wouldn't believe. It's not special "Apple RAM", it's Samsung RAM with a sticker on it. Buy from http://www.crucial.com/ or some similarly priced RAM site. RAM is RAM, get as much as you can fit in the machine.

As an IT Professional I can put my stamp of approval on crucial. I buy most of my memory upgrades from them.
