AndyMan 7 #2 June 16, 2006 My DZ is very happy with it. It's a suplement to, not a replacement for standard video service. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
spencer 0 #3 June 16, 2006 Do you work as a cameraman, and who does the dubbing, at your DZ, do the cameramen dub them selves, and who down loads the footage to realextreme from the camera flyers. Do they?, On a busy day jumping, packing, and dubbing and being on the next load, leaves little time. Just some of your thoughts please.
AndyMan 7 #4 June 16, 2006 I did part time tandem video last year, and will probably get pulled in this year when they get busy. I prefer to do other stuff. At CSC, there's an editor that creates a highly polished DVD. That is NOT what ends up on RealXTream. The cameraman plugs in his firewire, clicks a button that says 'start', another click that indicates the Exit (which causes the music to pick up, among other things), a 3rd click to indicate opening, a 4th click to indicate landing, a 5th to stop the recording, and a 6th click to "publish" the video. It's the easiest process I've ever seen, and once the cameraman has his video cued up it takes about a minute of his time. I've not heard any complaints from the cameramen. They still make every other load. The realxtream software does the rest - uploading over the DZ's internet connection or burning a CDROM at the end of the day that can be uploaded elsewhere. It's slick. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
sparko 0 #5 June 17, 2006 As the editor at my dz it works ok, seems to take a fair amount of time using different tapes from different camera guys and adding the landing footage seperately. Think it's a really good idea in pronciple, although doesn't feel like our video sales have gone up much....

Cacophony 0 #8 June 28, 2006 The software has its bugs and the web page is not that user friendly. I have to take at least 3 calls a week about people that don't get their email, while the video is clearly uploaded. All you have to do is search for their name!! The idea sells a lot of video, but the company needs to get its act together with customer service. It seems to take weeks to get an email response from them. Other than that, they need to rotate their ads a little. I can't listen to that stupid Go Fast ad anymore! I can't seem to figure out how to view more than about 25 videos from any DZ, including my own. It only comes up with 1 page of results, while my DZ has uploaded several hundred at the very least. They also seem very slow at updates. On a scale of 1 to 10 I would give it a 6.
