skydiveoc 0 #2 June 4, 2006 Im sure you could get away with 5-6 in a day. But with my PC 330 and 8 or more I was very sore through my shoulder and trapezius. I have since bought a PC 1000 With camera flyer necks we are now going to have hand cam shoulder syndrome!
ltdiver 3 #3 June 4, 2006 QuoteWith camera flyer necks we are now going to have hand cam shoulder syndrome! Very valid thought. I've seen TI's who have started to get nerve damage in their necks and shoulders from having to lug those heavy rigs around all day long. Now...add to that the use of a 'heavy' handcam on top of that. It'd be interesting to hear from those who have done alot of this combo (i.e. Australia does, I hear) and what their experience is in this department (shoulder-hand syndrome). Especially those who have been doing this for years. Are they getting some numbness/tingling in their arms and/or hands? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
riggerrob 644 #4 June 6, 2006 Wow! This thread is quickly getting off-topic. The only time I experienced spasms in my shoulder muscles was when I was forced to do a half-dozen kneeling exits - in one day - from a Cessna 182. Back in the old days - of poised exits - my lower back muscles used to cramp if I knelt too long. This was after I had done a thousand or so sitting exits, so maybe I just got "soft". Hee! Hee! Never experienced any arm problems after more than 400 tandem jumps with hand-mounted video. Hint, most modern miniDV cameras weigh less than 2 pounds. Faber 0 #5 June 7, 2006 got mine 2 weeks ago, only jumped it on bellymount so far. worked great(if you can use i BASE as good) As i rember it has same weight as the 105e which it to me has replaced. a few cons so far. If you want to change focus you´ll need to go indide the menu(open the lcd) the small battery dont last long in the cold.. Pros top/side load of dv tapes real 16:9 great quallity compared to the 105 cant wait to strap it to my head whith a 0.3 on Stay safe Stefan Faber
riggerrob 644 #6 June 9, 2006 No heavier than many vertical format miniDV cameras. At 4 inches from front to back, it looks "do-able" for a hand-mount. Starting to draw patterns ...
