cheap flash rebel xt

Recommended Posts

Heya
I need a flash for my rebel xt/350d that can be used at BASEjumps.
As its at BASE im interested in a LOW budget flash that still do the job.
I wont be abel to insure the flash so it should be one thats easy and cheap to replace but should still do the job.

Will a cheap 40$ flash from ebay do the job http://cgi.ebay.com/TTL-Flash-for-Canon-EOS-300D-350D-Digital-Rebel-XT_W0QQitemZ7622172879QQcategoryZ48515QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
or should i atleast get myself a Sigma?

cheers

The guidenumber is a index that says something about the strenght of the flash. The strongest canon flash has a guidenumber of 58 They are claiming a guidenumber of 92 and i don't think that is possible. If that isn't correct you could ask what else is wrong. On theother hand 49$ isn't much specially as you convert to euro's
If people from Poland are called Poles, why aren't people from Holland called Holes???

I do not know the max sync voltage of a reb xt, but cheap flashes can fry the electronics in modern cameras. Some film rebels have a 6v max on the hotshoe, and many cheap flashes push 250v through the low side of the relay when they fire.
