Faber 0 #1 May 22, 2006 Heya I need a flash for my rebel xt/350d that can be used at BASEjumps. As its at BASE im interested in a LOW budget flash that still do the job. I wont be abel to insure the flash so it should be one thats easy and cheap to replace but should still do the job. Will a cheap 40$ flash from ebay do the job http://cgi.ebay.com/TTL-Flash-for-Canon-EOS-300D-350D-Digital-Rebel-XT_W0QQitemZ7622172879QQcategoryZ48515QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem or should i atleast get myself a Sigma? cheers Stay safe Stefan Faber
Gadget 0 #2 May 22, 2006 For one I wouldn't believe the guidenumber they are claimingIf people from Poland are called Poles, why aren't people from Holland called Holes??? My logbook
Faber 0 #3 May 22, 2006 sorry my bad english but im not sure what you ref. to. what do you recomend? Stay safe Stefan Faber
Gadget 0 #4 May 22, 2006 The guidenumber is a index that says something about the strenght of the flash. The strongest canon flash has a guidenumber of 58 They are claiming a guidenumber of 92 and i don't think that is possible. If that isn't correct you could ask what else is wrong. On theother hand 49$ isn't much specially as you convert to euro'sIf people from Poland are called Poles, why aren't people from Holland called Holes??? bmcd308 0 #6 May 22, 2006 I do not know the max sync voltage of a reb xt, but cheap flashes can fry the electronics in modern cameras. Some film rebels have a 6v max on the hotshoe, and many cheap flashes push 250v through the low side of the relay when they fire.
