Dokeman 0 #1 March 20, 2006 anyone using one? http://www.skydanceheadgear.com/sonic.htm I would like to topmount everything, but still have the option of side mounting if i prefer later. And I want something that has a full forehead shell on it so I don't have a huge sight assembly sticking out like on my rawa. I have already looked into a flattop, but I don't want something that big and bulky
Miami 0 #2 March 20, 2006 Have not seen one anywhere, actually. Just as a note there are other options along those lines, such as the Kryten from 2KComposites. PM me if you have questions about it.Miami

Dokeman 0 #4 March 20, 2006 yea, but the flat surface on top is not that big. I like the sonic, cause it is capable of the most configurations. I want to mount my rebel vertical on top, and my pc101 right beside it. I dont want to use the bracket the hangs the still camera right on your forehead, at least not yet anyways.. I want to play around with it and see what configurations i like best for what dives. This just seems to have the most mountable areas. Flat on each side and on top, and you can get the forehead bracket for stills. My rawa was good for a starter helmet, I just want something with a little more options. That and im getting tired of dealing with camera boxes and stuff.
The111 1 #5 March 20, 2006 Quoteyea, but the flat surface on top is not that big. On an Optik Illusion (different than the Optik), the mounting surface is actually fairly big. I wish it was a full rectangle instead of the trapezoid it is, but it is still big enough to do what you describe (vert still + vid). In fact, I did that exact thing on my OI just last week.
