steveorino 7 #1 February 20, 2006 I have a Canon digital Rebel. Right now the stills are about 44 inches wide at\nd 72 DPI. What is the maximum size (width) I can get at 400 DPI? and 600 DPI? steveOrino
indyz 1 #2 February 20, 2006 DPI is just "dots per inch". So just divide the width of the image in pixels by the DPI and that's your number. So if you are shooting full resolution at 3072x2048, the width at 400 dpi is 3072/400 = 7.68 inches. Icon134 0 #3 February 20, 2006 What he said is faily clear... but I figured I'd add that when I'm setting up an image to be uploaded to print (at say Click Camera, etc...) I'll adjust the dpi to maximize the resolution at the printed image size. When uploading for viewing on a website I typically adjust the total number of pixels to a reasonable size for viewing on a computer screen (typically I'll go for 400x600 or 500x700)Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
