Mould and fongus in camera lenses

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I have a silly question.:P

I’m looking forward to buy a lens for my photographic camera. I’m going to spend some hundreds of dollars buying the lens but I’m concern about something.:S

All these lenses are basically compose of peaces of glass in a tube fill with air.
With all the changes of altitude that lean to moisture plus the humid air in Florida.

I’m worried that the lens will develop some kind of mould or fungus in between the different peaces of glass.
Do you think this may happened to my lens?

I can't in my wildest imagination see this as being an issue. I've -never- heard of it happening. There would be no source of food to support the little buggers.

Therefore, it probably has and will happen again to -somebody-. ;)

(But I seriously doubt this will ever be a widespread issue.)

I use a film camera "35mm Canon EOS 2000", but hopfully and only because I have been such a good boy this year;), Santa will get me a EOS 20D.

I know some people are all into digital, but I think to have the two options "Digital & 35mm" will be a good thing down the line.:).

for me!!

I prefer digital

film is $$ and slow to the customer

digital is where it is ar in the DZ..fast..cheap..easy..
but most of all quick to the customer

no waiting

digital will soon replace film in the 35mm class

medium format of large format is still dominated by film

consider this

200 pictures reduced to 150 great or 100 super

cost per picture
cost of the pictures you dump

for the jump photographer digital is the only format that makes sense.

thats my 2 cents worth

I too have a Rebel 2000. In the two years I've had my Digital Rebel, I've used my film Rebel once. Your milleage may vary. If I could sell it, I would.
