orangemagoo 0 #1 December 14, 2005 OK ... I've researched, read the threads, checked CNET, etc. I've done my research. But ... I'm still stumped ... I'm trying to determine which is the best camera for my roommate ... who is going back into video (he has almost 3,000 jumps) The PC 109, the PC 1000 or the HC42? Comments from those people using them in the field? Thanks! Erin
The111 1 #2 December 14, 2005 I don't know anything about the PC109 (I've only researched newer models), but the HC42 and PC1000 are worlds apart. If you're going to include an HC model with the PC1000, I'd include the HC90.www.WingsuitPhotos.com
Chrissay 0 #3 December 14, 2005 Quote The PC 109, the PC 1000 or the HC42? Unless they have changed the PC 109 and got rid of the docking station, I would take that one out of your line up. I have a HC 42 that I only use of editing, works well for editing, but if I was going to buy a new camera, I would go for PC 1000. From what I have seen, the video quality is amazing. and that is my $.
tdog 0 #4 December 14, 2005 I wanted the PC1000 or HC90 but went with the HC42 because of budget and I knew I was not going to be making world class video with it... World class as in being pressed into DVDs or sold to TV or movie houses... My thought... In a few years there will be a HDTV 3 chip cam at the same price as the PC1000, probably smaller than the PC1000 - at which point I will upgrade. Or I might upgrade sooner for a higher price... But with HD gaining market share in the TVs, I did not want to spend the $$$ on the PC1000 now, instead I am getting a lower quality now so I can upgrade sooner when I find something I like... But, as Miami told me... If you have the money, go for the PC1000.
