Superman32 0 #1 December 8, 2005 I just got a HC40. <> I understand that the manuals and the video editing software for the HC series are not the best, so, I'm looking for suggestions on good (pref. cheap/free) editing software as well as tutorials on how to use it and get the most of it. LouDiamond 1 #3 December 8, 2005 Try the windows XP movie maker SW if you have it. It's not super complicated but I have seen some people make some really slick videos using it. As long a you don't want to get to real high speed with the editing, it should do you."It's just skydiving..additional drama is not required" Some people dream about flying, I live my dream SKYMONKEY PUBLISHING
Zoter 0 #4 December 8, 2005 Movie Maker is a great program that is both easy to pick up and use and actually lets you get some good edits... A beginners guide is available right off the MS website... http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/moviemaker/getstarted/default.mspx Its pretty easy to pick up......get some footage and play.....and you'll be making your own movies in no time... BellyFlailer 0 #5 December 8, 2005 I've been using Sony Vegas. It's pretty nice, does interactive tutorials and whatnot, easy to use. It cost 80 - 90 bucks though. http://www.SkydiveVids.com
Zoter 0 #6 December 8, 2005 BellyFlailer....some of those videos on your site are just scary !!! Are you doing that stuff special just to scare people or do you do that stuff every week ??
BellyFlailer 0 #7 December 9, 2005 What in particular do you think is scary? I know the one where I hit the bush is kindof scary (crash page). The one on the crash page where I hit the pilot chute of the other skydiver wasn't my fault, the girl under the pink canopy saw me and pulled in front of me on purpose. I don't think she realized I have much more wing loading than her and gained on her quickly. Did you see the one where the canopy opens under me? That person pulled above 4 grand on a dive where we pulled a flower off the otter. She and another broke off and did their own 2 way and she ended up tracking under us. That's on the main page and the 11/12 - 11/13 page. That one was really scary. One should never pull high without doing a barrel roll first. The other close canopy ones are all intentional, and planned, I only do that stuff with people I know. . http://www.SkydiveVids.com

BellyFlailer 0 #10 December 9, 2005 That's the same girl whose pilot chute I hit. She's got a ton of jumps, real good skydiver. Both incidents are my fault too. She shouldn't have pulled so high, but I should've broken off sooner on that jump, especially when we knew that 2 of us were elsewhere. Dives that end up being hybrids are dangerous, too much seperation between groups is a bad thing. There's only a select few that I do the canopy stuff with now. http://www.SkydiveVids.com
BellyFlailer 0 #11 December 9, 2005 Sometimes I swoop those desert bushes intentionally. That one was a good deal bigger than I thought it was. The lines on the left end of my canopy caught a few branches and made me take a hard left turn about 1 foot off the ground. The bush wasn't big enough to stop my body, just big enough to snag the lines. I know, it was a dumb ass thing to do. Havn't swooped too many bushes since. http://www.SkydiveVids.com
