Problem with PC101, can anybody help?

I've got a problem with my Sony PC101...

When I open the tape door, the tape holder will slide out, but the tape will not pop up, then the holder will slide back in. I've tried popping it open with my finger tips to no avail and I'm afraid to use any more force without damaging it. Any ideas?

That happened with my TRV once........take the battery off and put it back on.........don't ask but someone told me to do it and it worked. Then get a can of air and clean the rails.

There should be some kind of pin hole on the cassette cartridge. find it
thats step one.


since NONE of my two camera are here because they are both in the shop I can't really guide you through this.
but it should be similar to prom. just stick a pin in the hole until something pops.

Sorry but neither reply was any help... I looked for a pin-hole... where is it supposed to be?

actually I think I misinformed you.

the pin hole is on the DOOR. it would release the tape from the cartridge if it was stuck with the door closed etc. see if you can find that.


if you can than look in thae same area of the cartridge there MAY be a release latch.

or you can always get it out with a hammer
