livendive 8 #1 September 16, 2005 OK, so I got my PC-350 and looks like it's going to take a sharp blade to remove the handstrap. That's not going to get me in trouble with the warranty folks is it? Also, any chance any of you would like to post the neat ways you've made your sidemounted D-Box less snag-susceptible? I have new toys!! Camera, d-box, and cam-eye already here, hoping my Diamond lens arrives this afternoon or tomorrow. Time to play with power tools! Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" sdctlc 0 #2 September 16, 2005 Dave, Welcome to the wonderfull world of toys that can hurt you.... Give a long hard look at how you mount and if you see any crease between the helmet and D-box I consider it a snag point! If Dave H. is out there any time he can probably give you a few suggestions in person as well. Get it together and take a pic then post it and I am sure if there is anything that is obvious or not so obvious it will be noted by teh forum... Have fun as it is always fun with new toys!"He who Hesitates Shall Inherit the Earth!"

Yeah, I expect to see Dave at Davenport this weekend. Between him and Tod Hendricks, I figure we can get it done. I've jumped cameras a bunch of times, I just haven't owned one before. The box mates up pretty nicely with the flat side of my helmet, so I don't have a skinny slot for a line to go in, but that doesn't mean a line couldn't snag the whole box. I'm wondering if anyone's doing anything under/behind their box to make it more like the FF2 system (which looks almost snag-impossible). Blues, Dave"I AM A PROFESSIONAL EXTREME ATHLETE!" StevePhelps 0 #4 September 16, 2005 I carefully (with exacto knife) cut the threads that were sewn together on the loop. IF I had to I could resew it together.
theskydiveguy 0 #5 September 27, 2005 I took the screws off the back of the door and removed the pin that held the strap in. Then if I ever had something go wrong I could put it back in.. Turns out the camera was a defective unit and they replaced it with the 1000 for free :D ~Jeff

Obviously there's some snag hazard. Here's pics of the back, side, and a frame capture of the front just cuz I wanted to see if I could do that (new toy and all).
