Canon EF 2,8/15 vs. Sigma EX 2,8/15

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I am trying to upgrade my Zenitar 16mm to something with auto aperture. I know most people here got the Sigma, but being so close in price I wonder if the Canon won't be a better value...

Has anyone tried both and can speak pros and cons? Optical quality... build quality...

I know someone alerted about fog issues with the Canon but I know a guy who jumps one and he has no fogging problems, so maybe it's a problem specific to local conditions...??

Any help would be appreciated!

Something to keep in mind when considering Sigma is that they will simply refuse to repair their own products that are more than 4 years old or so.

I bought a second-hand lens and sent it to them for repair. They wouldn't touch it. They said that they wouldn't repair an item that "old" -- 4 to 5 years old!

Sheesh.. I'd stick with original manufacturer stuff, even if it's more expensive.

You know Canon will stick by their products.

Good to know. Thanks.

I knew there was another reason I've always bought Canon lenses.
