AndyMan 7 #1 September 9, 2005 I'm getting tired of Shutterfly's $200 annual fee. Their smaller packages include a LOT less disk space, but don't cost a whole lot less. There's got to be alternatives. I'm looking for the ability to upload photos, have customers buy them, and I get to set prices and get a check every so often. Anybody have any suggestions? Or is my only option to go back to printing them myself? _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
Anvilbrother 0 #2 September 9, 2005 Build your own site that does the same thing. After it's over I bet you wish you would have stayed with "Shudder Buy" Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. PhreeZone 20 #3 September 9, 2005 I'd like the same thing... but don't want to actually have a printer or mail things out. A service like this would be great... Hosting really is'nt needed either since I have lots of space on my web host already.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
AndyMan 7 #4 September 10, 2005 I did find Printroom - www.printroom.com. They offer a pro solution similar to Shutterfly, with a similar cost structure. Their setup fees are less - only $99, but you only get 1 GB of storage, but with the option to add more disk space for $10/100MB. I'm still looking, though. Ideally I would like to host the images myself. There's no reason why this can't be done... _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
indyz 1 #5 September 10, 2005 Take a look at Fotki. Their premium gallery comes with unlimited storage, selling photos with custom pricing, and custom themeing of your galleries. I think it's $50/year for a premium membership. There is a free two-week trial (don't even have to give them your credit card number to sign up), so it's probably worth checking out. Fotki's very extensive help pages are here. You need to be a little bit more of a geek to get things set up than with Shutterfly, but somehow I think you can handle it
PhreeZone 20 #6 October 21, 2005 I found a roundabout way of doing this finally... If you are running a website and use the Coppermine Gallery (highly recommended!) there is a mod at :http://coppermine-gallery.net/forum/index.php?topic=17027.0 That allows you to order prints through Shutterfly off your own gallery. Only question is the pricing structure and if you can customize out what others get charged for a print. I will be trying this in my site over the winter so I'll keep you posted.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
