WCollins 0 #1 August 9, 2005 Is anyone using the Conceptus Tongue Switch in the Lanc jack of their PC1000 having trouble operating the switch? The camera doesn't seem to reconize the switch or the switch doesn't work. I'm using the 2.5mm plug thats required for the camera. Is there a setting I need to adjust in the camera? Please help...I love this camera but if I cannot use the lanc feature...its gone!
CTSkydiver 0 #2 August 9, 2005 The tounge switch is for still cameras. You need a CamEye to operate a video camera. You trying to use the PC1000 as a still camera? The plug is the same, but the Conceptus isn't a LANC controller ... it is simply a remote shutter release.
jimmytavino 16 #3 August 9, 2005 ... whoa !!! are you skydiving with this camera? or just using it on the ground??? ....Are you talking at all to any other video camera persons???.........Are you just busting our chops????The lanc port is compatible with cam eyes. The camera may then be operated from either the cam eye button or the standard controls on the camera,, either way it indicates standby status ( green or blue ) and record status ( red)... Conceptus switches sure won't "operate " a video camera,,, may even screw it up. Why can't you just reach up and activate the control switches on the camera with your hand ?? .. been doin' this long???? your profile is non informative skydive safely jmy ............. o[:-)
