Superfletch 1 #1 July 13, 2005 I recently purchased a used PC105 off of eBay. I'm having a problem and I was wondering if any of you have seen/heard/know of what I am experienceing. It's driving me nuts. I've got this new one (used) and I've got the one that I have always had. Both Sony PC105s. Both cameras seem to perform flawlessly in record mode and playback mode. When I swap tapes between them is when the problem occurs. Neither camera will playback good video from tape shot from the other machine. Tapes I have recorded from my original 105 won't playback without the video and audio skipping and glitching in the new(used) one. And visa versa. But, video taped on my original plays back good on the original. Video taped on the new one plays back good on the new one. The problem only occurs when I try to playback video that has been recorded on the other camera. I don't have this problem when I shoot video on my original 105 and drop the tapes in other cameras at the DZ and I haven't been able to shoot video on the new one and try in on any other camera other than the 105 I already have. I was just wondering if anyone out there has experienced this and might have some suggestions for me to try. Thanks. nate_1979 9 #2 July 13, 2005 Try to take the new one and play tapes from other cameras... The new "used" one might be a little off, can record and play what it makes so it's not noticable until you put it in a camera thats properly "aligned" ... Just a thought... FGF #??? PhreeZone 20 #3 July 13, 2005 Just a wild guess... but are both the PC105's NTSC or could the new one be PAL? Do they both output to a TV correctly?Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
FrEaK_aCcIdEnT 0 #4 July 13, 2005 i know this probab;y has nothing to do with the playback from camera to the other cause i would think it would pick it up automaticly, but i only have 1 pc105 so i cant test this theory... but would having one set to record in sp and the other set for lp have any effect on the playback from one to the other? like i said. i would think that the camera would automativally pick it up, but im not a camera expert either. good luck! when u figure it out let us know. Superfletch 1 #6 July 14, 2005 The best I can tell is that the two machines have a very minute head alignment issue. Does anyone know how I might be able to get them realigned alike? Like I said they both work perfectly they just won't share recorded tapes. My guess is that the tapes from the new one won't work in other recorders either since the tapes from the old one do. ltdiver 3 #7 July 14, 2005 What audio mode are you in? 12 bit or 16 bit? I bet that one is set up in 16 and the other in 12. This can cause similar symptoms like what you are describing. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
docjohn 0 #8 July 17, 2005 Itdiver's suggestions might be correct. I have 2 pc105's and I swap tapes between them without any problems. Doc http://www.manifestmaster.com/video
