Premiere 6.5 was the last in the normal numbered premiere series and then they started over with Premiere Pro 1.0.

We've been upgrading our software every time adobe came with a new version, and they never mentioned anything about a version 7

Unless you have wierd beta version..but commercialy I don't think a premiere 7.0 has ever been available.
Premiere 6.5>Premiere Pro 1.0 (and 1.5 after that)

I think a lot of people started calling their program Adobe Premiere 7.0 due to the fact that a lot of P2P download programs accidently labeled Adobe Premiere Pro 1.0 as "Premiere Pro 7" and a lot of Software review sites actualy started listing this too...

Don't want to turn this into a warez or download debate....just curious If I missed anything.....and the startup screen of your premiere realy says "Premiere 7"?

Funny I've Premier Pro version 7.0.0.0

Our official updates went from 6.5 to version 1.0..that's why I asked...

Some friends of mine mentioned having 7.0 while they had actualy just (downloaded) Pro 1.0

The progression Premiere Pro 7.0>Premiere Pro 1.0>Premiere Pro 1.5 just made no sense to me...

Maybe they released a 7.0 only for a short while and decided to rename it. I see some sites such Amazon lis premiere pro 7.0 (with the text 'replaced by Premiere Pro 1.0')

So it's probably just some marketing renaming thingB|

Yours was actualy the first I've ever seen of 7.0
Any differences with Premiere Pro 1.0 that you know of?

>Is yours maybe an in between beta version or a full store-bought version? <

That I dont know, I get my software free (with licence ) from a client.

Maybe European versions are different to yours.

I generally use Ulead 7 as Premier pro can get a bit complicated

edit: I just noticed that you are in Europe, so I really dont know what to say.

Gone fishing

The major difference between the 1-7 and Pro 1-1.5 is integration with other Adobe products such as After Effects and Audition and Encore.

There are a few other features that are essentially ergonomic enhancements and consistency changes to the user interface.

Another point that I think might be pertinent is Adobe's decision to stop supporting Apple platforms with Premiere.

Look for tighter integration with Macromedia as well.

I know the differences between the earlyer and pro versions (use premiere/encore/after effects a lot)

But I was specificly wondering if there are diffrences between Premiere Pro 7.0 (that was probably only available in some countries for a short time) and the renamed version...Adobe Premiere Pro 1.0

We started at 4.2, and upgraded through Adobe to Premiere 5, Premiere 6/6.5 and then went to Premiere Pro 1.0 and 1.5 after that...

We never got/saw a version pro 7.0...I was wondering what that version was like..

Are Adobe Premiere Pro 7.0 and Adobe Premiere Pro 1.0 the same program and just a clever marketing-rename by adove...or also (slighly) different programs..?

(looong post just to satisfy one persons curiosity..I know:P)

I'm guessing that Premiere 7.0 was renamed Pro 1.0 after Premiere was split into Premiere Pro and Premiere Elements. Adobe also appera to have "reset" the version numbers when Photoshop was split into Photoshop CS and Photoshop Elements.

Edit to add: Also, the displayed and internal version numbers don't necessarily have to match. For example, my copy of Windows XP Pro SP2 also refers to itself as Windows 5.1

software is confusing...I want to go back to film B|
Where editing is done with a pair of sciccors and tape :P

Just saw some footage shot by a friend on 8mm and 16mm (super16) with a new emulsion by kodak...amazing colors...(and kick-ass 150 fps slowmo's..beats the shit out of any digital camera)

I'd love to shoot some stuff on film again...waay cooler then DV...its the last format where there's still some magic left in the process...

Not that I'd want to ever edit anything 'analogue' again...I love the controll and speed of diginat editing....but still..:)
