efs4ever 3 #1 March 24, 2005 Like an adapter that plugs into the camera's special proprietary 3 pin hole and converts to our favorite mini plug; say, just a short gender changer kind of cord. There are probably enough of us using EOS cameras to warrant it. Rebels are soon to have funky plugs for the remote switch also. Russell M. PhreeZone 20 #2 March 24, 2005 Its really easy to make these and at least one DZ.commer is selling his old one. Specificially what EOS camera are you refering to? All the 35mm's take the 2.5mm stero plug and only the 10D and 20D digital cameras take the N3 plug.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
quade 4 #3 March 24, 2005 Easy, yet expensive as you have to destroy a "good" part in order to get the N3 plug. The N3 plug by itself is not available from anyone.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

I'm just not real swift with a soldering iron. What I'm thinking of would be a short cord with an N3 plug on one end and a female socket for a 2.5mm plug on the other. That way I could plug in a store bought bite / blow/ tongue switch. I've purchased an N3 remote on ebay for $25.00 that was made in China. Might be able to obtain parts from that merchant.Russell M. The expense is in Canon's stupid proprietary plug. I wouldn't sell my adapter for less than $50, as that's what it cost in parts alone, using a real Canon N3 plug. Reality, maybe for $65 each, I'll sell N3 adapters. It's raining here anyway... So, if you're willing to spend that much, let me know. Or you've already got the expensive piece, just hack it yourself. peace lewhttp://www.exitshot.com
velocityphoto 0 #6 March 24, 2005 Yo lew ! You said you made a female plug adaptor for your 2.5 mm to plug into , then into the 10-d or 20-d whichever it may be? Where did you pickup the female plug ? Because i cant find anything at radio shack for it... PhreeZone 20 #7 March 25, 2005 Ebay one does'nt even need an adapter, it comes with a 2.5mm plug right on the side of it to plug into Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
efs4ever 3 #8 March 29, 2005 Link to seller of after market remotes in Germany I ordered one of these. There is a female 2.5mm socket in the button part of the cord. I suppose the whole thing could be "gaffer taped" to the side of the helmet leaving a hole for your store bought bite / blow / tounge / hand switch. Russell M. PhreeZone 20 #11 March 29, 2005 Please tell me you did not pay over $20 for that since you can get the same exact remote off Ebay for sometimes less then $5. I've got it, it works great on a FTP since you can just bury the parts in the cave at the front of the helmet. I posted about this earlier in the same thread I think. I do like taking the remote apart and just having the 1 inch by .5 inch electronics chip there to tape to the helmet.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
