PC330/Lanc port cover/camera condom/Cameye question

Recommended Posts

When setting it up with a cameye should I let the cover hang loose or take it off comletely? :S I'm just using a camera condom, no box.

Also, while I'm posting about it....would it be easier to run it through the inside of the CC or on the outside? I'm gonna do some dremeling and try to keep it inside the helmet and looking as pretty as possible. :PB|

Any advice would be great. Thanks!

I started by drilling a hole in the cover so I could put the plug through it, keeping the other holes covered.

Eventually I decided that was too much of a hassle, and ripped the cover off. I haven't noticed any performance difference.

I also put a hole in the CC, so I could plug in the Cam-eye after already having put the camera in the CC. The wire ran outside the CC.

Eventually I switched to a d-box - which seems like the smart way to go.

I removed the cover on mine with no problems. The only problem I can see is maybe getting dust and dirt into the other ports that are open. I think they make little plastic plugs to go into the open plug holes. I am going to go to radio shack to see if I can find some.
