ScottMcC 0 #1 February 2, 2005 So as many of you may recall, I got a PC109 for Christmas. the slight problem therewith is that my kenko .42 has 37 mm threads, as opposed to the 25 mm threads on the 109, and the conversion ring I have is 30-37 (from my old broken pc1). thus I am left with several options: 1) buy a new conversion ring, and use the old .42 with the stupid vignetting (or zoom in to approx .5 to get rid of it) 2) buy a diamond .5 lens (the .3 is too wide for me--I'm gonna be doing freestyle, freefly, and tandem vids) www.royal-lens.com 3) same as 2) but liquid lens .45 from www.cookiecomposites.com 4) same as 2) but blue eye .45 from www.waycool.com.au I know the merits of each of the above have been discussed at length before, but my searches turned up no head-to-head comparisons. so which would be the best? thanks all. mr2mk1g 10 #2 February 2, 2005 Several such comparisons came to the conclusion that these lenses could well be the same optics repackaged and re-branded... But I don't hesitate to add that this is based on no hard evidence at all, merely the fact that the products are all so strikingly similar. I certainly wouldn't be surprised. A couple of the manufacturers post on here... maybe they can be of some help.

Cookie 0 #5 February 4, 2005 All the lenses mention are made from the same japanese high quality single element glass. This is a fact!! The housings of the three mention vary in size which ultimately varies the field of view, to a point where vignetting may occur . If you wish to ask me any questions on this feel free to PM me! Cookie *edit cause I spelt ultimate with a "A" dooh!!
ScottMcC 0 #6 February 7, 2005 Update: I have just purchased a Royal Lens Stealth 0.5. I shall update everyone again as to its performance once it arrives. Thanks all for the info.
SkymonkeyONE 4 #7 February 7, 2005 Seriously? I think they are all the same when it comes to actual performance. I have the Xdream .3 and it's identical to Max's Royal lenses. Ultimately, it's what you can get for "the right price at the right time." As to the .3 being too wide for tandems, that's just not correct. I pull my .3 back to about .45 for tandems without it getting out of the focus range. My lens was built for a PC 105 and I found a step ring to fit it to my 109 for $15 at Best Buy, with a filter!
