ffejdraga 0 #2 December 18, 2004 Here is a pic of me taken by Joel Burnap, basically my speedlight is attached by camera lock velco (the heavy duty platic kind) to the top of my camera mount. A few stow bands are around it also for peace of mind. Then I bought the Nikon cable that connects the flash to the camera. It is 5' long, so I had an electronic engineer cut it down and splice it together for me. Now it is about 8" long. Works good, could get snagged, but I feel it would rip off and break first. Hope this helps, jeff agard D-16906
newshooter12 0 #3 December 19, 2004 not to hijack the thread, but what mod did you have put on your D70 for the tongue/bite switch? matt
ltdiver 3 #4 December 19, 2004 Love the pic! The expressive eyes. The left hand placement. The two front teeth you got for Christmas? Now seriously....Wonderful depiction of the fun we have in this sport! Grins! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

skydivebaz 0 #8 December 20, 2004 I am just waiting for my FTP tp arrive from the US. I have my PC 8 and 20D with my sigma 15mm and was looking at getting the speedlight 580 so need some ideas! i like the look of yours on mounted on its side. Does the flash not need to have the infra red thingy in line of sight? and also looking at a 3 chip to put on top maybe the dcr hc 1000 as i dont like the pc8 sticking up . vdschoor 0 #9 December 20, 2004 I don't know about the red light in the front. I know it's used to help with autofocus in low light conditions, but other than that I haven't had problems with it. I set mine up almost fully manual though, and I haven't had any problems so far.. I guess I should look back in the manual again one of these days. I am looking into mounting it upright though, but that's a project for next year. Iwan

Deuce 1 #12 December 23, 2004 These are my two sidemounted versions. I like putting the flash behind the still camera, it's just hard on the hot shoe mount. Currently I just zip tie the flash to one of the sharkfins I use to protect my PC120
