Kindly enough, FARK has a link list of really good tutorials to help beginners get started and seasoned pro's to acquire some new skills.

It basically reaches a point that you can do just about anything you want with an image in PS, depending on how much time you're willing to spend.

Most photo correction stuff (color, shadows, removing unwanteds such as light poles/power lines) is very simple and can be done well very quickly, but if you really want to play, it takes a bit of skill and a lot more time.

These tutorials are pretty good, if you know of a good one I didn't list, feel free to add to it (I wish there were online tutorials like this when I started using PS nearly 10 years ago).
