New lanc controller design

Recommended Posts

I got an email the other day from this company: http://www.technodz.com/

They've designed a new lanc controller for Sony camcorders... it does everything the cameye does plus it gives you the ability to zoom your camera to a pre-determined point.

That alone could be a great feature for people who like to use a very wide lens but zoom through it to the same point for a lot of their jumps. For others it could be a nice feature for quickly catching landings or the like.

Even if the product doesn't take off, it may well spur cameye on to introducing new features such as those added here. If it does - cool, variety is the spice of life.

Looks very similar to one of these, I jumped one on and off for a while, playing with the zoom, just for shits and giggles.

I extended it and put in a breakaway connection, this was all before cameyes were common, and we were all using video-on indicators strapped to the camera LED.:)
Bear in mind that zooming can play havoc with focus on some wide angle lenses. :|:S

Don't forget every camera would need another way of pushing the button.... :D
The trouble with skydiving; If you stink at it and continue to jump, you'll die. If you're good at it and continue to jump, you'll see a lot of friends die...
