Samb 0 #1 December 6, 2004 How many photos can you take with this cam in 30 secends? See a lot of users complains about the speed. I have spend about 4 hours on previous comments posted. It has been a great help so far.
jimoke 0 #2 December 6, 2004 from my jumps about 12-13 . I just timed it at home and it shot 15 large jpeg mode. it shoots off about 8 images in the first 11 sec then it slows down to process. in a normal 14k tandem skydive I average about 22 freefall pics. I use a 512mb card, I am not sure if a bigger faster card would do it? hope this helps with your descision. you won't be disappointed with a digi rebel.......I'm not. bskyz 0 #3 December 7, 2004 Just wanted to add another factor to consider -the speed of the CF card that you use. I was using a regular CF card (don't know what speed, it was generic), and when I switched to a high-speed card there was a noticeable difference in the write speed, and the speed of the shots taken. DaGimp 0 #4 December 7, 2004 the size of the card and the write speed do make a diffrnect....once your card gets about a little over half full, it takes a little longer to write to it. the original scandisk CF cards are the cheep ones....slowest write speed, if you get the Scandisk Ultrra II they are the better ones, a little more pricy, but 9mb write speed. And you can get the 1GB ultra II chip for about $130....i got yesterday"Professor of Pimpology"~~~Bolas
dragon2 2 #5 December 7, 2004 I'm at work now (yeah working real hard lol) but at home I got an mp3 file somewhere, comparing the 300D shutter speed with that of the D70. After hearing that, the choice is easy!! ciel bleu, Saskia
dragon2 2 #6 December 7, 2004 Good cards for the digi rebel (and D70 too): SanDisk Ultra, San disk Ultra II, San Disk Extreme, PQI, Lexar high speed. These are all approx. the same speed when used with the 300D. ciel bleu, Saskia
dragon2 2 #7 December 7, 2004 Can't locate it on the net, so for the moment the D70 vs 300D mp3 is here: http://www.12000ft.com/fun/nikond70vscanoneos300d.mp3 It's only 20 secs of each, but you can extrapolate... ciel bleu, Saskia
turtlespeed 226 #8 December 7, 2004 It also depends on what settings you use in your camera. I use auto focus alot, and it tends to give me a just slightly slower frame rate. I'll be upgrading to a diferent lense soon and I think that will at least make up the difference.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
