heftee 0 #1 November 3, 2004 where do you suggest I look for buying a bullet cam of sorts - want to play with video but don't want that much gear on my helmet as a regular camera person. thanks!
diablopilot 2 #2 November 3, 2004 I would suggest you're then going to have a lot of stuff around your waist. I'd use a bullet cam for creative shots like foot cams, or hand cams, or even one rigged into the lines of the parachute, but for helmet video, I'd uses a more conventional camera.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. mjosparky 4 #3 November 3, 2004 I've used them for deployment shot during testing, but like JP said, the wires need to go somewhere and you need to carry an external power source. There is a reason you don't see the top freefall cam people wearing them. SparkyMy idea of a fair fight is clubbing baby seals
FrancoR 0 #4 November 3, 2004 to answer your question. Look here: http://www.rfconcepts.co.uk/helmet_cameras.htm Friends of mine are using these cameras and are very happy with them, i will go for one next season. They are just a lot lighter on your head and are easy to get snag free. FrancoIf it does not cost anything you are the product.

CaTo 0 #6 November 4, 2004 you can take a look at my website, http://cato.makes.it especially the about-section I have been jumping a bulletcam frm rfconcepts now for almost 1 year and I LOVE IT. Don't be scared about them talking about a lot of gear around your waist: i have just a small package, strapped around my waist, under my rig, with a Sony trv33 and a separate bullet-cam battery. No problemo Be sure you buy a cemera-recorder (like my rv33) that can - record analogue - is a sony : can use a cameye-sport the latter is very important since starting recording via the screen is almost impossible when you are about to leave the plane. attached is a photo with me, my camera and my recorder on my belly if you want to have extra info, please ask or leave me a PMCaren
Faber 0 #7 November 6, 2004 i like my bullet cam from RF in daylight but i dont think they live it up(i have pack 4)in twighlight or night zone, besides that i think RF has a really bad feedback,it took them 2-3 weeks to respond on my Q´s as i got blue spots while recording in darker zones(this cam should take 0lux),i then had to pay shipment to them and back so they could test the cam, their answer were it were ok even as i could see they never removed the tape i used to hold the bublepaper around the cam Im still stuck on my bullert cam and all the extra i got from them(RF) i will deafently NOT recomend buying from them... besids that,if it worked it would be a great tool... PS. notice that i only BASE jump and therefore need the 0 lux option. Stay safe Stefan Faber

Well, for me it is completely the opposite: I received my cam and the recording showd some deforming around the edges. I telephoned RFconcepts and they told me to send the camera back. Without questioning I received a fully new working camera the week after, and the refunded every expenses (like postages) i did make. So I will definitly buy another camera with them. I fact, I will order an extra this winter, so I can have two camera's in my helmet, with different lenses, so I can switch during flightCaren

Just kinda worried that i'll slip and scratch the lens.
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
