StevePhelps 0 #1 October 20, 2004 1) Anybody use one? 2) pros and cons 3) How does that sucker stay on and not blow up like a shirt would?? Sorry if the questions are dumb, but no one has ever used one at my small DZ.
Brains 2 #2 October 20, 2004 I use a flite suit jacket. I freaking love it. Around the bottom it has about a four inch section of spandex that you tuck into your pants or shorts or whatever else you are wearing. I have never had mine blow up on me. My wings are a "C" wing and i had RSL shackles put on the end so i can loop it around my leg straps and not have to have clips on my freefly pants or swoop shorts. Edit: I forgot pros and cons. I like that i can change pants/shorts etc to match fall rates and temps. Cons, it is a little baggy for really fast fall rate tandems, in that instance, i have jus not clipped my wings and or don't wear the swoop cords. I originally bought it to film my skysurfing teammate so i needed it baggy. I find it to be EXTREMELY versatile and i couldn't see getting another camera suit unless i decided that i wanted to film competetion RW or something like that. Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.
linestretch 0 #3 October 20, 2004 have a tony jacket, Cwing, and love it. Very easy to put on and take off. bitchen for the summer. Wish I had started wearing it several years ago. Bought it used, and it has the sit wings in the back of the arms. They suck, but I just sewed them shut. no cons to think of.my pics & stuff!
dragon2 2 #4 October 20, 2004 At least 2 cameraguys at our DZ wear them. They can quickly change pants this way (freefly, birdman pantz, booties, etc) according to whatever they're going to film. The jackets are very long so they tuck securely in your pants. Haven't heard of them blowing upwards yet, I suppose it depends on the quality. Just like 2 piece freefly suits are supposed to stay put. ciel bleu, Saskia
FlyinseivLP2 0 #5 October 20, 2004 I also have the Tony C wing jacket and love it. You give a waist meaurement when you order it so there is a snug fit around the waist(spandex) to keep it from blowing up. Very nice to be able to just wear the jacket and shorts in the summer. Zee 0 #7 October 21, 2004 I love my Tony Jacket - It's versatile as all hell - Jumping down in Texas where it's hotter than a snakes ass most of the time, it's really nice to be able to fly in just a pair of shorts and a jacket as opposed to a whole suit. I'm a good 230 lbs without gear so getting steep on a light tandem can be quite a challenge without a good set of wings, and the jacket is the best thing I've found so far. Mine has the "C" wing and I like the way it responds when I make small adjustments. It also works pretty good for sit flying although the seams have started to give a little at the lower attachment points after 4 years. As far as drawbacks, well, the "C" wing will flop under the front of your arm and inflate throwing a monkey wrench in your whole program. It took a little while to adjust to, but after a while you figure out how to move your arms so that doesn't happen. And, since you asked about the thing creepin' up your belly - YES - Mine creeps up all the time - see pic - But I like gettin' a little breeze up my shirt on a hot summer dayI'd get one if I were you - Hell, I think I'm gonna get me a new one tooPeace, Z Action©Sports
