towerrat 0 #1 August 25, 2004 I just received in the mail my new Flat Top. In the instructions it says the coating will not cure for a month and is prone to scratching. It also says not to bake it for a month. I was wondering if anyone has experience with this, and if so how critical are these recommendations?Play stupid games, win stupid prizes! diverds 0 #2 August 25, 2004 No matter how long the paint has cured, you don't bake the actual shell of the FTP or FTN only the liner. Skydive Radio

riggerrob 643 #4 August 25, 2004 The trick is to remove the foam liner, put it in the oven (for the recommended time and temperature) then re-insert it in the helmet and clamp the helmet on your head until it cools to the correct fit. I have never heard of anyone putting a complete Bonehead helmet in the oven. Shameless - un-sponsored plug - : both my Bonehead helmets (old school full-box and HAVOK) fit great using these methods. I was kidding for cryin' out loudAnd yes, baking the liner (not the shell) works great - your skull goes numb after having the helmet clamped on your nut waiting for the foam to mold to yer head but, once the form fitting is done it does offer a very nice fit. VisionAir 0 #10 August 26, 2004 QuoteI have never heard of anyone putting a complete Bonehead helmet in the oven. Some of Boneheads helmets (ie. Optik) do have the option to bake it shell and all but NOT the FTP or FTN. Huh?!? What cloud?!? Oh that!!! That's just Industrial Haze Alex M.
