Zee 0 #1 July 22, 2004 Anyone have any experience jumping with a 16mm motion picture camera or the like? I was watching some video I took during a C-130 jump and Tom Sanders was jumping some gigantic reel to reel type thing and I thought it looked pretty wild. What I'm wondering is if there are smaller versions of that type of camera - MUCH SMALLER - I'm assuming that the editing equipment ain't exactly cheap either. I'm totally unfamiliar with that type of gear but I think it looks like fun. I'm just wondering what I would need for a basic set-up and what kind of cash I'd be looking at. Zee 0 #3 July 22, 2004 A-Minima features a quick change magazine which accepts 200' (61m) film loads in a new daylight friendly format on a core with flexible flanges. With a base market price of roughly$15,000 (USD), A-Minima makes high quality filmmaking very affordable. $15,000 - dayum, what a deal! he he he..... Hmmmm - the piggy bank is thinkin' - probably not Action©Sports
AndyMan 7 #4 July 22, 2004 A- Minima's are also avilable for lease, I believe. I think it goes without saying (but I'll say it anyways,) that these are only approprirate for properly funded commercial work... _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. DV editting is fairly cheap, but actual 16mm editing you need a lot more expensive toys

Thanks man - I just found a used Milliken 16mm camera with an adjustable frame rate up to 400fps?? for $1200. Damn, I could have all kinds of fun with that. I have A LOT of research to do before I decide to go for it but it still looks like an interesting hobby to play withPeace, Z Action©Sports
