lewmonst 0 #1 July 21, 2004 For those shooting at the US nationals in Perris this year, will you be shooting your team with two video cameras? (Please only respond if you are coming to nationals as a videographer) I don't have a second video camera (that's not melted) and I'm wondering if I might need to invest in one soon. I will also have to tweek my setup and move my current video to make room for a backup... If you're shooting two, do you own both? Did you get two just for the purpose of backup for competition? Was it your choice or did the team pressure you into having a back-up? Identical or different wide-angle lenses? What level is your team competing in? - I know the more competitive the team, the more is expected from the camera flyer. I assume most answers will be for 4-way, but I'm curious for all levels and disciplines... peace lewhttp://www.exitshot.com
quade 4 #2 July 21, 2004 Yep. Two video cameras. One with a slightly wider lens otherwise set up pretty much the same. I'll probably jump for an Open class team and I wouldn't feel right about jumping with them without a backup. Since it's allowed by the rules that we can look at both and decide which is best -- it only makes sense to take advantage of that. That said, it's not a requirement by any means and plenty of camera flyers just jump with one video camera. I did my first year. I would -strongly- suggest having a CamEye or other indicator light especially if you're only jumping one camera. I'll be definitely jumping 4-way, probably 8-way, not sure yet about 16 or 10, more than likely CRW.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
Rdutch 0 #3 July 21, 2004 Im jumping two, but Im not investing in a second camera for it. My team requested me to jump a back up camera, so Im gettting them to provide it. You cant justify spending up to $1000 for 10 jumps at $15 a jump. Also there is places you can rent a camera for a weekend, that might be a good idea also. I have two camera's but one is PAL so I dont think it will be any good for US Nationals. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of!
Brains 2 #4 July 21, 2004 I am only jumping one camera in the open division. Now before anyone freaks out, i film a skysurfer. There is only an open division this year. I only own one video camera and i am not going to invest in another one just yet. This is our first(beers on me at nationals) competition and i am looking forward to learning from as many people as possible while i am there. ltdiver 3 #5 July 22, 2004 And if you do, will the cameras be set up parallel or parallax? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

lewmonst 0 #9 July 22, 2004 I hope a 3 inch difference or so doesn't matter, as I'd go parallel. peace lewhttp://www.exitshot.com
