Deuce 1 #1 July 9, 2004 I have gotten all the "wired" gear to hood two EX 550's up to my Canon 10D. Hot shoe adaptor 3, the cables the hot shoes. The camera is communicating with the flashes, as when I press the shutter to activate the metering, both flashes power up and make sounds. (Geez I wish I had something more cool to call it, but I'm not much of a faker). Anyhow, neither flash will fire when the shutter is tripped. I'm thinking it's a menu setting, but I'm not having luck with the configuration settings in the camera's menu there. Yes, I have "read the damn book". I have a call in to Canon, as I suspect they will instantly ask me why I'm not using the coolio infrared system. My answer of "Cause both the flashes are mounted on either side of my video camera, on my head, and don't communicate consistently in bright light" might put them off. Anybody got a better book? No way! I'd -totally- tell them -exactly- what the usage is and how you want it to work. I wonder if one of the strobes has to be set to "master" and the other to "slave" in this config anyway.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
jdhill 0 #3 July 9, 2004 "master" and "slave" or "high speed synch" settings is all I can think of. JAll that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. - Edmund Burke

Mark used to, he jumps Canon now, at least the latest setup I saw of him was Canon. The 10D with the 550ex.
Deuce 1 #7 July 9, 2004 Mine are supposed to be firing in sych, not sequential. I'll drop Mark a line.
