koz2000 1 #1 July 7, 2004 Got my goldmember from Bonehead today. It looks very solid for a camera mount. In fact I'm ditching my stroboframe and mounting my GM. Good job Bonehead. For thoes looking for stroboframes, don't bother, call bonehead. Dave______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. AndyMan 7 #2 July 7, 2004 Quote In fact I'm ditching my stroboframe and mounting my GM. One big question: Why? I just bought a stroboframe for 2/3 of the cost....? _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
diverds 0 #3 July 7, 2004 I'm with Andyman. Not only is the stroboframe cheaper (and proven), but they also have anti-twist plates and attachments for other cameras and flashes. Skydive Radio

koz2000 1 #5 July 8, 2004 Yes, I'm aware of the cost difference (at least while you can get them) and that they are proven. HOWEVER, I've got nearly $2000 in my 10D and lens, I'm about to purchase a 1D Mk2 and that raises my cost to nearly $5000 and the difference of $30 bucks isn't that much. The goldmember has four mounting screws compared to the stroboframe's two. I've never been really "crazy" about the little spring catch on the stroboframe. (Mine always seemed to stick) There is a lot less play with the goldmember compared to the stroboframe. I am in no way saying the stroboframe is bad, but I believe the goldmember is a more secure mounting system. The original wonderhog was a good system but my Micron is much better. I also like the fact that a skydiving company is making it. Lew, after this weekend I'll be happy to post additional info and some pics of my setup. The only thing I'd change about the goldmember is I took off the metal ring attached to the plunger and put a small piece of gutted dacron line. blue ones Dave______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J. koz2000 1 #6 July 11, 2004 Hey Lew, Here's a couple photos of the mount on a Hawkeye. I also put a mount on my FTP on the L-bracket on the front, but I left that helmet in the video room which is now locked... Reviews, The mount is really solid, and very easy to pull the camera off for downloads. It's very easy to verify that the camera is locked in. There seems to be a lot less play in it than the stroboframe. Again not that the stroboframe is a bad mount, I just really like how solid the GM is.______________________________________________ - Does this small canopy make my balls look big? - J.
