Touch my GOLDMEMBER baby!

Recommended Posts

So while I haven't jumped it yet, I just got one in my hands, and I must say nice design. I'd trust any of my cameras to be held securly by this thing.

Nice alternitive now that StroboFrames seem to be in short supply, and it suports another skydiving oriented business.

Hey Bonehead, when are you gonna start making cameras?!:D

For those who are like "WTF is he on about now?!"

I can see uses for it, but the price . . . that's about $20 more than what I'm paying for the standard Stroboframe bracket we're all familiar with.

Also, I'm not sure this is much of a factor for the average camera flyer, the Stoboframe is an entire system of brackets, not just the ones we use most commonly in camera flying. It's a minor detail, but having an interchangeable flash bracket that also mates with your camera from your helmet is kinda bitchin'.

It's certainly on the expensive side for milled aluminum - at least if it's coming off a CNC, if some dude is turning dials on a Bridgeport that's a little different. Wow, and $42 for a extra mounting plates - Strobo is like $14.

I don't see any sort of anti-twist plate for it either. The strobo anti-twist plate makes setup easy and keeps everything from moving.

Oh well, got enough Strobo parts to keep me for awhile.

You've promoted this twice already... Are you sponsored by bonehead?

No offense, JP, but I ignore positive reviews of any product by someone that is sponsored by them or gets benefits as a dealer. Of course you're going to promote it. Also, isn't this borderline advertising in the forums?

Don't get me wrong, I love bonehead, I've owned 5 bonehead helmets so far. I'm not sponsored by them, and I think they rock!

But the stroboframe works quite well. If it ain't broke, why fix it?
And this Goldmember is quite pricey for the job it does.

WTF?

No I'm not in anyway currently or in the past sponsored by Bonehead.

I do NOT work for Bonehead, nor have I in the past.

It's about as much "advertising" as your continual praise and suport for that overpriced camera store.

As for your dealer angle, I don't receive any commission for selling any of the products the company I work for sells. And after hearing about the initial dealer discounts on the product I will retract my statement about dealers stocking them.

I am highly excited about a new product launched by one of the nicest manufacturers in the skydiving industry.

Please jump back up my throat now....

Rebuttal...

Could you rephrase that...

Oh and can you use this on a side mount or is this design specifically for top?

There's a bus up ahead and looks as though JP is getting thrown under it...

Gotta agree with the above posters. It looks nice and all, but you can buy stroboframe qrc's for $55 complete, and anti twist plates, and extra bottom plates for like $15. This new quick release seems overpriced to me.

As for stroboframes being hard to get, I have only heard that as gossip on these forums. I have had no problems ordering them within the last few months from both Calumet and B&H.

I didn't mean to come across that negative, sorry.

Ok, that's good to know. But as a dealer, you still represent and sell their product right?

Ok, fair... But I am not even a dealer for Ritz. I am simply sharing a positive experience I've had with the product and the company, seeing how it saved me hundreds of dollars, it could also save someone else.

Do you get a free one or a discounted one?

Multiple personality syndrome?

And onto something almost completely different. If the Strobo products are in short supply, how does the manfrotto mount compare? That is in function and price? Similar, inferior what?

There has seemed to be a shortage of StroboFrames avaliable as of late.

The item seems to be just as versitile.....

Hey JP, if you are having a hard time getting StroboFrames, maybe I can hook you up. ;)

All kidding aside, it is nice to support the skydiving industry. And the more the sell the move competative their prices will become.
