StevePhelps 0 #1 May 9, 2004 I've had ChiChi Bevard of PARACHI http://www.skydiveairtight.com/ParaChiDesignz.html make me several suits, but non better than this camera suit. While it looks great -- it has booties, wings, swoop cords, hip pocket, inside pocket, and it is made with a new material just great for heavier skydivers -- very durable and dense although light weight. Heck you can't even see light through it. Well, what do you think?
quade 4 #2 May 9, 2004 Ok, I've brought this subject up to BirdMan folks and I guess it's time to mention it to the camera flyers. Poses people . . . poses. When modeling your new jumpsuit, try not to look like this guy. Seriously, my chick just looked over and said, "so . . . are there many gay skydivers?" I'm sure the guy isn't gay, but still . . . the pose . . . the flames . . . Oh, Steve, BTW, -much- better job than the guy I'm making fun of. Might wanna work on those wrists in the first photo though. In all seriousness. Nice looking jumpsuit.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

quade 4 #4 May 9, 2004 Well, since you asked . . . no. It isn't going to be a self portrait. I have too much trouble with stalkers as it is. (You being among them. ) Posed shots in general just look, well, posed. People have a tendancy to look un-natural (which is why professional models actually are worth the money). "Normal" people have a tendancy to not understand what to do with their bodies or extremities. In particular, hands are "difficult". So, what's the solution? Candids mostly. After gear up and in the loading area or while walking in from the landing area. Additionally, in-flight shots are great, but since we're talking about camera flyers in particular, that's pretty difficult as I think you're aware. Still, what about a landing shot? Send somebody out to the landing area and tell them to snap off a few of you landing. It shows off the suit and it doesn't look too stupid -- unless, of course, you habitually land on your, um, butt. Yeah, I just grabbed the swoop cords. and balled them up in my fist. Looks dumb, I know. As far as the other guy -- that's our Tandem Master. he ain't gay, but we ALL thought he looked gay in that picture!

StevePhelps 0 #7 May 9, 2004 Quade: Good advice -- my posing looks like CRAP! But a landing shot or stil in the air from one of our other videographers would be cool. Thanks for the tip.

ltdiver 3 #9 May 10, 2004 Just looking for constructive advice for your readers in this forum. If you're going to criticize, then post advice on how to do it better.
