Article: codecs compared.

Recommended Posts

It would have been interesting to see these same tests performed on a comparable Mac system.

I also find it interesting that there is no mention whatsoever that DivX is a variation of Mpeg 4.

Any thoughts about why Quicktimes Mpeg 4 did so poorly compared to DivX?

I mean, it seems like it wasn't even in the same ballpark... The article didn't address if the faults were specific to the Apple implementation or if they were inheirent in Mpeg4.

I think that its a good info resource for people not sure which way to go - I liked the side by side comparison , I've gone through many renditions of movies both in WMV, and Sorenson, just to have the chance to see which one looks better at the end (differs from movie to movie). although I tend to go with WMV at the moment - for smaller file size, and higher quality (so it seems to me)

but again - the side by side is what many people can use..., and this is merely 1 arcitle ... theres so much more on the web as for codecs, reviews, and information... dont stop there...
